In search of something different than pub food, we went to India Gate for vegetarian fare and were not disappointed. Mains don't come with rice, but a single order of rice plus plain naan was more than enough for our two dishes. Flavorful and a good amount of spice, plus friendly service made this a good dinner decision.

This was my first visit to India gate . I liked the vibe here , soft music , spacious and dim lights dining and good customer service they provide . Servers are very polite and friendly and make sure you enjoy your food . In St. John’s so far this was the only place where you can get tasty Indian food . Quality and Quantity was pleasant. I would recommend this place for sure 💯

The tandoori chicken, laacha paratha, roti and butter chicken were very tasty. Best I have had in St John’s. Service and ambience is also great. I would go back again.
I did not like dessert so much though. The saffron cake tasted like a normal tea cake and the gulab jamun was a bit rubbery.
I’m okay with the 18% tip but don’t understand why it’s applied on the total bill including hst.
