What people say about (Woodroad Restaurant: A Cape Breton Dining Experience)

What an exceptional evening. Have travelled to many places and this by far was the best food ever. The service was excellent. We had a very fun night and all of us raved about every part of t

It was really, really great - it wasn’t fantastic. The atmosphere, setting, staff, and entire idea of the dinner is spectacular. It’s very welcoming, true Nova Scotian hospitality, there’s just 1 seating, the chef talks you through every meal and it is a wonderful experience. The food was just good. My husband and I are full blown foodies and for the price point, we were not blown away. It was fresh and local, but we didn’t leave stuffed. An allergy wasn’t substituted with anything but just omitted altogether (mussels were left out and not replaced with anything, it was a soup with mussels so this course was very boring for me) The cocktails were a bit of a miss as well - the old fashioned was very sweet and my “extra dirty” martini tasted more dry than dirty. I found the wine pairing to also be overpriced. It was an excellent experience and completely unique, however it was quite overpriced for the quality and quantity of the meals. If we had spent $200 less I would have given 5 stars. We spent the same amount at Pluvio in Uclulet BC and that dinner blew us away completely, so is what we are comparing to at bang for buck. Hope this is helpful!!

Oh-My-God! This hidden restaurant on the coast was absolutely a gem! Chef’s 7- courses meal was just perfection! Every course was amazing, especially the mussel and oyster soup and richly creamy lemon tart. The service was 6 out of 5! All servers were very polite, knowledgeable, and helpful! And the end, the MOST important! The VIEW! The sunset view was phenomenal! Unbelievable sunset view on the horizon, which was the most romantic moment! Beware they are only 25 seats, and only open 3 days a week during the summer. You better make your reservation few weeks ahead minimum. High suggest to any occasions!
