Some of the best food I've had in a long time. I'm glad I came across this gem. The food was very flavorful, do I need to say more? Just look at the pictures how good it looks. We had the Miami Affair and Fairouz. Served with a side of garlic bread and dipping sauce which was a nice treat to go along with our meal. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and the establishment was beautiful. I will definitely come here again. I highly recommend Maro's!

Maro’s Bistro immediately caught our attention with its really cool and stylish website—and the restaurant itself had some good vibes too, with a rustic, eclectic interior that felt both cosy and lively.
For drinks, I ordered Cameron’s Cosmic Cream Ale—but was a bit disappointed to find it came in a can instead of draft, which wasn’t clearly mentioned. It was decent, but not quite what I expected.
Initially, I chose Fairouz, but the server informed me they didn’t have it—fair enough—but she seemed rushed and impatient when helping me pick something else. Without much time to browse, she suggested Before Sunset, which thankfully turned out to be a great choice: juicy, flavourful meat, although the garlic potatoes were underwhelming (lacking seasoning and barely any garlic), and the shakshuka was completely different from the traditional dish you’d expect. Still, overall, I’d rate it 4/5.
My wife ordered Here Comes the Bride, a fish entrée. Surprisingly generous in portion and featuring decent-quality, the fish didn’t feel fresh though. The dish could have used more dipping sauce for the bread served alongside it, but overall, this meal was okay. 3.5/5.
As for service, it felt a bit rushed. We were seated quickly, but while my wife was still on a phone call, the server returned twice within minutes to check if we were ready to order. I ended up ordering a drink just to move things along. When we finally placed our food order, the server didn’t mention the massive portion sizes—something we overheard another server warning a nearby table about. It would have been nice if the advice was consistent; we couldn’t finish either of our meals and had to pack them to go.
Prices are on the higher side (around $30 per dish), but considering the huge portions, it somewhat balances out. Parking is tough though—there’s no public lot nearby, so you’ll have to hunt for street parking and hope for some luck.

Maro’s is a charming Middle Eastern restaurant close to downtown Oakville.
They have an outdoor patio for the summer, so we sat outside. I liked the fact that they have small canopies for some shade from the sun.
Service was friendly and efficient. The food was fresh and flavourful. They have an interesting choice of dishes, including vegetarian options.
I tried the Maro’s Special with fish fillet. I checked with the waitress if the fish would have the Lebanese marinade, and she said yes. What I got were pieces of batter fried fish which were too dry for the saffron rice. The fried fish did not go well with the dry saffron rice. I was expecting grilled fish or pan fried fish which would have gone well with the rice. So, unfortunately, it wasn’t a great food experience for me.
Another member of my family ordered the K-Saq which he enjoyed. The Mulberry mocktail was not too sweet and very refreshing!
Definitely worth a visit.
