Visiting Kingston today from out of town. I was excited to find a butcher that was open on a Sunday. Everything looked fine when I walked in, seemed clean no weird smells. I wanted 2 striploin and 1 tenderloin steak. The only tenderloins available were 3 vacuum sealed together. I asked if I could get just one and was offered a discount if I took all 3. I was hesitant but due to the high reviews I bought them. I was planning on freezing 2 of them. When I opened the package it had a faint smell. Nothing too alarming but I decided to cook all three and have them for lunch. After being cooked they smelled even worse and were not edible we threw them out. The striploin were delicious. So my advice, if it’s vacuum sealed DO NOT BUY! If it’s offered at a discount DO NOT BUY. If I lived in Kingston I would just not go here. I cook steak often as I have teenage boys who are steak crazy. I have never experienced this before.
