I recently visited Shelby’s Legends Shawarma in Markham and was thoroughly impressed by their innovative approach to vegetarian options. As a vegetarian, the halloumi rice bowl was mind-blowing—a refreshing and distinct concept compared to other dining options. The plate featured a generous serving of perfectly seasoned, flavorful rice and veggies paired with crispy yet tender halloumi cheese. The fries were outstanding, offering a delightful contrast with their crisp exterior and soft interior, while the accompanying hummus and garlic sauce added an authentic, rich depth of flavor. I also had the opportunity to try the falafel, which was equally impressive. It was well-seasoned, with a crispy exterior and moist, flavorful interior, making it a welcome addition to an already stellar selection of dishes. The location of Shelby’s Legends Shawarma is ideal—situated in a vibrant part of Markham, it offers a welcoming ambiance and is easily accessible. One of the standout features for me was the availability of a pretty decent parking space, which made the overall visit even more convenient. Adding to the exceptional quality of the food, the service was truly commendable. The staff were friendly, attentive, and professional, ensuring that every detail of the dining experience was managed with care. Their prompt and courteous service greatly enhanced the meal and contributed to the restaurant’s inviting atmosphere. At approximately $20 for a substantial bowl, the halloumi rice bowl not only delivers in terms of taste and portion size but also represents excellent value. Shelby’s Legends Shawarma stands out with its creative take on vegetarian options, exceptional service, and thoughtful amenities like ample parking. I look forward to returning for another memorable dining experience and highly recommend this establishment to anyone seeking a unique and satisfying meal.
