What people say about (California Grill)

Ordered a large shawarma poutine on Uber eats. Very minimal cheese, gravy and meat. For the price listed for a a large, I wouldn’t call this a large. Fries also not that good, very plain EDIT I decided to give this place another try after reading the owner's response, but I regret to say that my experience was even worse this time. 1. The price I was charged was higher than what was listed. 2. I ordered a mixed plate, but I received a chicken plate instead—and was still charged the higher price. 3. The beef tasted off, and the portion of meat was very small. 4. While waiting, I noticed several flies in the restaurant, which was quite off-putting. 5. Rice tasted old and lacked flavour 6. tomatoes were bad The cashier seemed to be struggling, likely because he was working alone, and while I appreciate his effort, it didn’t make up for the poor quality of the food. I genuinely dislike leaving negative reviews, especially for a new business, but I believe in being honest. I hope they take this feedback as an opportunity to improve.

I haven’t tried everything so I won’t rate it very low but the falafel wraps and chicken wraps were extremely disappointing. 😢 I’m not sure if I’m just more used to other Windsor Shawarma places that make a more garlicky, savoury garlic sauce, but their garlic sauce was very sweet and overwhelmed all other flavours in the wrap. This restaurant is mainly Indian now so perhaps this is a more Indian style Shawarma? It’s definitely not like most other Shawarma places sauces and I’m not sure the rest of the wrap is edible now as it’s doused in that sauce. 😭 The falafels themselves are pucks, probably not made in house and are very bland making the whole falafel wrap bland. Also, if you order garlic sauce on the side, you’ll be given garlic pizza dipping sauce which is ok for pizza, but disappointing compared to middle eastern garlic sauce. Overall, very disappointed with these wraps and wouldn’t recommend. On the other hand, their Indian dessert soup, payasam, was very good so maybe if I go here again, I’d only order Indian. 🤷‍♀️
