I went to Smiley's Buffet for lunch today. The atmosphere was good. Being escorted to my table was good. I was given a cup of water like I asked for. I approached the buffet, and the selectio

Went here for lunch and it tasted better than I remembered (it’s been about a year since I last came). They have quite a variety ranging from fruits to fried food to desserts. I didn’t quite care for the spring rolls (also didn’t realize the sauce was at a separate buffet so I didn’t get any). The gravy was wayyyyy to salted but other than that, I enjoyed the rest! The vegetables were super soft - which I liked. I didn’t try any desserts but they had quite a few selections and heard they tasted great. I peeked at the sushi selections and it didn’t seem very good so I skipped those.

We went to Smiley's for Thursday night dinner in a rush on our way to a concert. We had to pay before going in which was strange. Once seated, we went to fill our plates. The food didn't look very appetizing but we figured it may taste better than it looked. It didn't. The food was shockingly bad. The worst I have ever eaten at a restaurant in my entire life. The egg rolls were inedible. They were greasy, chewy and tasted awful. We didn't eat more than one bite. The chow mein was pale and greasy. The chicken balls tasted like old, frostbitten cheap meat. Just horrible. The best part of my meal was a my wine. The second best was the fried chicken. It was overcooked but did taste good. The most shocking part was the sushi. My husband was going to have sushi, hoping it would be better. He didn't see it till we went to sit back down with our food as we were seated directly across from the sushi bar. We watched the lady making the sushi take a tray to the buffet, grab some cooked turkey and fish, take it back to her area, break it up and used it to make sushi!!! We couldn't believe it. We left hungry and grabbed fast food after our event which was so much better. Go anywhere but this place.
