What people say about (The Burger Mechanic - The English Fish and Chips Shop)

Krystina M

We came to eat before a movie and oooh what a great find! The haddock and chips full size pieces, not the little aesthetic cubes you get accustomed to seeing. The fish fries so crispy and tender, it was delicious. We also had some lemon butter chicken soup 🥰 I could eat a pot of that. Love this place, the ladies who took care of us were really lovely too, very sweet and kind when they checked in on how we were doing. 10/10, very much recommend

I recently visited The burger mechanic, to try their highly reviewed menu and ordered the Carnivorous Beef Burger, Holy Beef Burger, onion rings, Nutella milkshake, a soft drink, and a 2-piece fish and chips, with a total cost of approximately $70. The burgers were a highlight. The buns were soft, and the garlicky sauce added a delightful flavor. The beef bacon was a standout, offering a satisfying alternative to pork. While the patties were slightly dry, the overall taste was enjoyable, reminiscent of Top Gun Burgers in Toronto. The onion rings were hot, crispy, and well-battered, making them a great side. The Nutella milkshake, however, was less impressive, lacking the thickness I prefer compared to other establishments. The restaurant also offered a sample of lemon butter soup, which was interesting but not something I’d order. Intrigued by the menu, I decided to try the 2-piece fish and chips, priced at just under $25. While the dish arrived hot and crispy, including the fries, I found it overpriced. The batter was thinner than I prefer, lacking the airy, crispy texture I enjoy. The fish didn’t taste particularly fresh, though I could be mistaken. The tartar sauce was disappointing, resembling watered-down mayonnaise rather than the traditional condiment. In comparison, other local spots, like the fish and chips at Crossroads Market, offer better quality for around $17, making this a regrettable purchase. Overall, the burgers and onion rings were highlights, and I’d return for them. However, I’d skip the fish and chips in the future due to its high price and underwhelming quality.

First time there. I had the Thai chicken pieces. Very nicely done. Also had the jalapeño poppers. Very nice. My business partner had the fish and chips. He said that they were great. Nice
