What people say about (Fritou)

Mohammed Farook

Fritou Saddle Town – Crispy, Juicy, halal & Full of Flavor! Fritou in Saddle Town is hands down one of the best places in Calgary for fried chicken. The chicken skin was incredibly crispy, perfectly seasoned and absolutely packed with flavor – every bite was a treat! You can tell it’s freshly made, not greasy, just the right crunch with juicy meat inside. The fact that the food is halal makes it even better for those of us looking for delicious halal options. The staff were friendly and the service was quick. The combo meals are also a great value for money. If you’re a fan of crispy, well-seasoned chicken, especially that golden, tasty skin, Fritou is a must-try!

I’ve noticed a serious decline in quality over time. I first tried the food back in 2023—it was average but bearable. However, my recent visit was very disappointing. The food was overpriced and tasted subpar—not worth the money at all. Service was equally frustrating. The staff were visibly arguing with one another, which affected both order-taking and delivery times. Even the soft drinks like 7Up and Pepsi tasted diluted, like sweet water. Although the staff seems to have changed since my last visit, unfortunately, the experience remained poor. Overall, it was a very bad experience. Definitely not planning to return

I do not recommend the NE location. The chicken was extremely salty, and when I asked the staff to pass on the feedback, the woman wearing a hijab—who claimed to be the owner—argued with me instead. She said, “We can’t change the recipe just for you. If you don’t want to eat here, then don’t come.” I found this response to be very rude and unprofessional. I simply wanted to provide feedback, not start an argument. While the rest of the staff were kind and respectful, her attitude was completely unacceptable. I hope this issue is addressed properly.
