Stumbled upon this place on one of my visits to St. Johns. The flavors stand out! The presentation is excellent. Authentic. My Favorite restaurant for 2024 and now 2025

This was a special treat for me. My date had brought me here to try some dishes and foods from her home country. It was fantastic. All recipes are handed down from grandmother to mother to daughter. And she is running the place right. From seeing the beautiful sign out front I knew this was going to be a great place. Since I’m not familiar with food from this region so my date picked her favourites to share with me. First off portions are really big, I had enough for a second meal pretty much. We had the Koobideh Kebab, a nice ground lamb with a flavourful spice to it. Not hot spicy but a nice spice. I enjoyed this a lot. The saffron rice with berries on top was amazing. A light but noticeable saffron taste with the sweetness of berries. We also had the chicken. It was chicken wings with a nice blackened seared crisp to them. The flavour was amazing. I don’t know what spices were used. But the chef knows what they are doing here. There were two drinks we had too. One was a sweet saffron cold drink that had lemons, cucumber, and basil seeds in it. At first I was like seeds in a drink?!?! But I like this better than bubble tea back in BC. It is a must try. For our after dinner course it was a black tea with a beautifully tasty piece of Baklava. I highly recommend coming here. And every time I’m in Newfoundland I will be stopping in.
