(OTTAWA) Student Tasty Biryani by Otaaq Cuisine

Tried a few biryanis, but they just felt like curry tossed into biryani rice—calling butter chicken on rice "Shahi Biryani" is a stretch. The place itself didn’t help either—looked unhygienic and had an overpowering smell of phenyl. Not exactly appetizing. The only saving grace? The samosa. It was decent, but that’s about it. Service was okay, but the overall cleanliness and food quality was off.

Ordered a large biryani and was not disappointed. Fragrant, oh so much flavour, and perfectly spiced. $20 with a tip for 2.5 portions.

Too good to go: This is straight up a scam. You're supposed to get a left over meal at a discounted price (from $15 for $5). You're telling me that you sell a regular portion of white rice with 2 scoops of beans for $15? Don't think so. On your menu plain white rice costs $5 according to recent photos. While I was there, Biryani orders were taken, so there is no excuse that this was all that was left. It's very dishonest in my opinion, and very disappointing to trick your customers this way!
