While visiting Pembroke I found this gem! Nick's has been at this same location since 1969, I had their fried chicken for dinner one night and I went back the next day to try their pizza. The
Historic Nick's has been under new ownership for a couple of years. We ordered a medium pizza with ingredients as shown in the photo. I was told 20 minutes pick-up time. That's fair. When I arrived, I was told my order had not gone into the oven yet, and it would be another 20 minutes "or so." In spite of no explanation or apology from the counter lady, I chose to wait. In 15 minutes, my pizza was ready, and i was given a lg Macaroni/Dill salad for the extra long wait. The cook then shouted out an apology, which i appreciated very much. The pizza was fair to good, at best. For $43, I was expecting Nick's quality food. Disappointing. The ingredients were scant, except for the pepperoni. No sign of the meatballs, as requested, and noted on the outer pizza box. Cheese was generous and good. The salad was tasty. Now I know.
