Save this spot for your next day out in York! I stumbled upon a hidden gem— Damastique Authentic Syrian Cuisine—and I’m so glad I did. The star of the show was their incredible sharing platter, stacked with flavour: chicken shawarma, chicken wings, chicken tenders, lamb koobeida, chicken shish, all served on soft, fluffy rice, with a show-stopping lamb shank right in the centre. To start, I had the best muhammara I’ve ever tasted—packed with flavour and absolute perfection. The kebbeh was freshly made, crispy on the outside and delicious inside. Their spicy hot potatoes were another standout (10/10 if you can handle a bit of heat!). We ended with a comforting glass of Moroccan mint tea, fresh baklava, and ice cream—just the perfect finish. You can really taste the quality and care in every dish. It’s clear that a lot of love and attention goes into the food and ingredients here. Highly, highly recommend—this place is a must-try!

Recently went here for the first time. The food was good but just a little on the salty side for me. The interior is superb and makes you feel like you are anywhere but York. We enjoyed being able to drink in our own alcoholic drinks.
