Les saveurs de Casablanca

A pleasant smell kept catching my attention whenever I was passed by the restaurant and I finally gave in to the temptation to go inside and take a look. All the pastry on display looked so appetizing that I ended up ordering more than I anticipated. I ordered a savory Pastilla which was amazing. I really enjoyed the combination of textures and flavours. The slight crisp from the pastry goes so well with the softness of the chicken inside. The Baklava was also great. It was just the right level of sweetness so that it wasn't overwhelming and the pastry had varying levels of crunchiness which was also tasty. The service was also great. The counter waiter was polite, friendly and he was really excited to present his dishes and gave great recommendations. I do find it a bit expensive though. Those two items cost around 15$ and the portions weren't that big but I do have to admit that they are quite filling.

I loved This little restaurant the first time I visited during Ramadan. The beef with prunes was fabulous, so were the meatballs. The second time we ordered the same things with the addition of harira soup. The meatballs were spot on but the beef was overpoweringly sweet and the soup barely had any lentils! I wouldn’t write them off just yet, I’ll will go back there again.
