What people say about (Restaurant Boustan)

Angelina Alberto

I had high hopes for this place. I came in what I thought was their opening day but I guess it wasn’t? Was grateful to get a gift card as one of the first 50 people but I’m not sure if I’ll be using it. I waited almost 2 hours and once I got inside it seemed like the workers were realllllly slow. The biggest disappointment was the size of the pita. I’ve never seen a pita that small without the option of buying a larger one. Another disappointment was the bone in my pita😭😭 The potatoes were delicious!!! Very happy with that! Had the poutine and the garlic potatoes and both were very worth the price. The owner was there and was very kind and upbeat but also he was telling his workers to hurry up in front of all the customers which didn’t seem very productive or respectful.

The food here is excellent! For the first time having shawarma, I’d say it gave a wonderful impression. Both staff members were kind, and the one who took my order was informative and gave great recommendations and information about the menu items. It’s very clean inside, everything is fresh, wonderfully aromatic, and bright (without giving you any headaches from odd coloured lighting). I had a bowl, as recommended and picked the contents of the bowl; it was flavourful, hot, fresh and beyond reasonable for the price!! The bowl (large), a bottled drink and the taxes were $22 and the portion was huge! If you’re looking for flavourful variety, friendly informative staff, fresh, hot and cold (salads) in a bowl, wrap of choice or even a long sub style bun; this is the place you wanna go! The garlic sauce is rich, garlicky and delicious, the medium spicy sauce is a mild/medium to me personally, but I have spice tolerance. If you do not have spice tolerance, it’ll probably be spicy for you! They do have a seating area inside along the wall there are a few tables, with 2 chairs per table. For only being open a few weeks, it’s got a lot of promise! It’s in one of the newer strip malls with the popeye’s supplements store, (across from dollar tree) and has a bright red sign that’s hard to miss! If you’re trying something new or just want a change from your normal places, check them out! (Apr. 18/25) Went in today (Apr. 25/25) for their grand opening and tried some new things! Got two bowls (one for lunch, one for the next day) and tried the tabbouleh salad which is very crisp and herbaceous! It mixed well with the beef in the mixed bowl! The second bowl was chicken but I got the harissa sauce and tried their hummus; both excellent sauces! Got the beet salad again with the same pilaf and potato bases. (This was take out vs the first time being sit in) Very worth the drive from Ste. Anne, MB!! (I’m assuming CEO/partner of the company and if I remember his name right) Carter, who I met today at the grand opening was friendly and humorous, shows he has a deep passion and love for his country, Lebanon and can excellently represent that love in the food the business creates. Here is hoping he can get his head office to open one up in Steinbach so they can bring this incredible food closer!
