What people say about (Banana Leaf on Davie)

Nice place to eat I order the pineapple, seafood rice with chicken, it was ok dish just I expected more seafood, it was a lot of rice 4 shrimps and i can’t realize where was the chicken, is a good dish just don’t expect to eat a lot of seafood or chicken, the flavour was good, in the other hand the coconut was awesome!! Not super expensive the pineapple dish was $25 and the coconut $6 (was the deal of the day). The coconut terracotta was also super yummi!!! The service is great, and the place is very clean.

Malaysian restaurants are not very common but this one takes advantage of that and showcases some of their best foods. Loved their vegetarian and vegan options too. My personal favorite is th

Logan row

There are glowing reviews of this place and I can’t fathom why. The atmosphere was okay, very little ambiance and dare I say inhospitable. The service was okay. Server came around once to drop off food then never returned. Those things I can ignore, but the food. Boy o’ boy was the food lacklustre. There was little heat and salt so in general, tasteless. Oddly, some parts of the dish were hot and some were warm. The shrimp wontons were over done and warm at best. They seemed to be pre-made and frozen. Honestly, this is the second location I’ve been to and both have been subpar experiences. They market the food items as being premium given the price, but there’s nothing premium about the experience. I probably won’t be heading to another of these restaurants.
