What people say about (ZAATAR W ZEIT)

Chloe Rachel

We weren't familiar with Lebanese cuisine, but were pleasantly surprised by our first visit for lunch. The large dining space is clean, modern and bright. Food is brought to your table if you dine-in, although it feels like cafe seating with a mix of high tables, booths for 2, plush chairs, etc. I had the Classic Zaatar and added mushrooms. For $6.49 (+$1.49), it was an affordable meal option! The sumac spice was very strong, and I was glad to have added the mushrooms to diversify the flavour profile. With the toasted sesame seeds, it had a gritty texture. The flatbread was great! My friend had their Hummus Avocado Wrap ($12.99). They found it tasty with a variety of vegetables like tomato, avocado, eggplant and bell pepper. This wrap was served cold in a spinach flatbread. The one issue was that the wrap leaked a bit (likely a mixture of the chili spread, olive oil, and moisture from the veg), making it a bit messy when eating. We shared the yam fries ($8.99) which came with a small dip (spicy, perhaps chipotle). This was a miss, and we'd skip it next time around. The food tasted very fresh, and they provided us with ice water when asked. Would recommend.

This is a very modern but comfortable restaurant serving both Lebanese cuisine and Lebanese coffee. This was my first try of Lebanese coffee and I picked the version with cardamom Lebanese coffee is very similar to Turkish coffee. It is served extremely hot but unfiltered. I ordered mine with milk on the side, but did not end up adding anything to my coffee. It was an incredibly enjoyable, strong cup of coffee with just a small hint of cardamom. It has a beautiful aroma from the spice. I had a few questions of the servers as I had not had the coffee before and they were both informative and friendly. I will certainly put this restaurant and Lebanese coffee on my list of things to continue to try!

Halal Lebanese restaurant. Other than being halal, I don’t know what else is good about it. Nothing special about the food. Overpriced for the value and taste that we got. Oh maybe if you’d l
